About Beth A Virnig
Beth A. Virnig, Ph.D., M.P.H., is the dean and Robert G. Frank Endowed Professor at the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions, joining in 2022 as the college’s sixth dean.
Dr. Virnig has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed articles and serves on the American Cancer Society’s Council for Extramural Research. Her research focuses on cancer care, women’s health, end-of-life care and health care outcomes at local, national and global levels. She has received funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, National Cancer Institute, Agency for Healthcare Research and Policy and other agencies.
Previously, she was a professor and senior associate dean at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. She earned her Ph.D. and M.P.H. in epidemiology from the University of Minnesota.
