About Christine T Myers

Christine Myers, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA, FNAP is a clinical professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy where she serves as the director of the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program. She has previously served as director or co-director of three training grants funded by the US Department of Education (USDOE). These programs trained occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology students to work interprofessionally in early intervention and school settings. Her current research focuses on interprofessional education in the health professions and continuing competence of occupational therapy practitioners, including use of evidence in clinical decision-making. A previous line of research focused on early childhood transitions for children with disabilities and their families. Clinically, her work has been primarily with young children and their families as a hospital and community-based occupational therapist. Nationally, she is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association’s (AOTA) Commission on Continuing Competence, a Fellow of the AOTA, and a Distinguished Scholar Fellow of the National Academies of Practice. At the university-level, she has served on the University of Florida’s Faculty Senate for two terms, the Persons with Disabilities Committee, and as Vice-Chair of the University Libraries Committee.
