EGH provides hurricane relief to farmworker families

Among the groups hit hard by last month’s Hurricane Ian were several Florida farmworker communities. Members of the department of environmental and global health at the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions have been working with community partner Redlands Christian Migrant Association (RCMA) to help provide relief for farmworkers and their families impacted by the storm.

Based in Immokalee, Florida, RCMA helps care for and educate the children of migrant farmworkers.

EGH faculty and staff have traveled to southwest Florida multiple Saturdays to help with storm cleanup and deliver donations of non-perishable food, water, baby supplies and tarps.
