Xinguang “Jim” Chen, M.D., Ph.D., a professor in the department of epidemiology in the College of Public Health and Health Professions and the College of Medicine, has been named the executive editor-in-chief of BioMed Central’s new journal, Global Health Research and Policy.
Global Health Research and Policy is an open access, multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal designed to rapidly disseminate high quality research to improve regional and global health and promote health equity.
Chen’s own research interests focus on behavior and health, global health and applied health statistical analysis. He has published more than 200 articles in peer-reviewed journals such as the American Journal of Public Health, Health Education Research, Substance Use & Misuse and the Journal of Adolescent Health. He currently leads a study in China that examines how changes in social capital, or social network connections, caused by migration may affect HIV risk behaviors.
