The new funding will allow the Southern HIV Alcohol Research Consortium, led by Dr. Robert Cook, to establish an administrative and research support arm to facilitate new studies and create new partnerships.
Five PHHP employees were recognized at the UF Superior Accomplishment awards Health Science Center division luncheon: Robert Cook, Michael Crary, Richelle Davis, Donovan Lott and Donna Stilwell.
The new study will evaluate whether a common medication can help women with HIV reduce their alcohol consumption and improve their overall health.
