About Xiaoxiao Wen

I am a third-year PhD student in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Florida. Under the supervision of Dr. Jinying Zhao, my research focuses on understanding the lifestyle and dietary factors affecting the risk of cardiometabolic diseases using an omics approach. Before joining UF, I earned a master’s degree in Epidemiology and Medical Statistics from Peking Union Medical College and the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases in China. My prior research centered on sodium intake, obesity, and hypertension. Currently, I am investigating the role of the lipidomic profile in the association of multiple lifestyle factors with the risk of diabetes among American Indians. My career goal is to become an epidemiologist specializing in multi-omics studies related to cardiometabolic diseases. I aim for my findings to inform targeted prevention and intervention strategies, contributing to the prevention of cardiometabolic diseases in both high-risk minority groups and the general population.
