Research Profile

My program of research focuses on age-related changes in cognition and the neurophysiological processes that underlie, impact, and accelerate these changes. In service of this focus, I conduct research that integrates factors known to accelerate aging, including heavy alcohol use, HIV, and obesity. To explore this area my research utilizes a range of methods including neuroimaging (i.e., magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS)), cognitive and behavioral assesment, metabolic tools, and neuromodulation methods (i.e., non-invasive transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS)).
