Research Profile

Dr. Braithwaite currently leads the Division of Population Health Sciences in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida (UF), and serves as Associate Director for Population Sciences at the UF Health Cancer Center. With an interdisciplinary background in epidemiology, health services research, cancer control and biomedical informatics, Dr. Braithwaite’s work is targeted at developing the evidence to guide healthcare policy decisions and innovative interventions to reduce the burden of cancer and other chronic diseases. Her research program has received awards from the American Cancer Society, American Society for Preventive Oncology and the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Dr. Braithwaite has extensive leadership experience in team science, including leading large, complex, multi-site, multi-project grants. Using diverse data sources and AI technology, Dr. Braithwaite’s team focuses on effectively monitoring, assessing and applying innovative methods to advance healthcare. In addition, Dr. Braithwaite’s research places emphasis on addressing digital inclusion while ensuring that diverse populations receive access to healthcare and resources.
