Diversity Committee overview

An ad hoc Diversity Committee was formed in January 2012 with the purpose of enhancing and promoting diversity and cultural competence in the College of Public Health and Health Professions. In July 2014, the committee was formally incorporated in the College Constitution as the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. The committee has a three-part mission:

1) meeting the objectives stated in the UF Diversity Action Plan,

2) enhancing cultural competency in the college, and

3) promoting efforts to understand and enhance health equity through education, research and service

The committee has a representative from each department, in addition to students members and staff support. The committee meets on the second Monday of each month to work on the college’s diversity action plan.
