Outstanding Alumni Awards 2025 Nominations now open through june 1!

Through the Outstanding Alumni Awards Program, we seek to recognize the extraordinary achievements of our alumni. The award is one of the highest honors the college bestows. 

Our mission is to shape tomorrow’s health professionals through dynamic and responsive educational programs, transformational research, groundbreaking discoveries and equitable health-related service. PHHP’s alumni are critically important to realize this mission. Our alumni are all over the globe in positions of prominence and leadership, where they are developing and delivering innovative, sustainable solutions to pressing health-related challenges for the greater good of individuals and communities in Florida, the nation and the world.

Based on the relative amount of time spent in the field since graduation, nominees should have accomplished prominence in their chosen profession through their efforts in industry, government, non-profits, education or other organizations.

Community Impact

Nominees should have demonstrated integrity and a commitment to service by bettering the lives of others through volunteer efforts, including civic, military and professional service or work with charitable organizations.

Alumnus/a of the Year

A selection committee will choose the 2025 Alumnus/a of the Year from among this year’s nominations to the other three categories. Awardees should have demonstrated outstanding contributions to society, their profession and/or the college at the highest levels of alumni achievement.

Eligibility Requirements and FAQs

  • All graduates of the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions are eligible for award categories regardless of graduation year and degree program.
  • Graduates may be nominated by colleagues, peers, family and/or friends. Self-nominations are also allowed and encouraged.
  • Each nomination will be considered for the selected award category as well as other applicable categories.
  • Individuals may be awarded more than once in one or more categories across multiple years. However, the justification must vary across each award/each year. Individuals will not receive multiple awards based on the same justification across varying award categories or using the same justification from one year to the next.
  • Nominations will remain confidential unless a nominee has been selected as an award recipient.
  • Individuals nominated for a 2024 Outstanding Alumni Award who were determined to be of special prominence will carry over for consideration in 2025. If new information should be considered, nominators may resubmit their nomination calling attention to additional achievements or other information.
  • Alumni selected for 2025 awards and their nominators will be invited to attend an Outstanding Alumni Awards Ceremony on Saturday, October 18, during the UF vs. Mississippi St. reunion weekend.
