Applied Brain Science minor

The Applied Brain Science minor is a 16-credit minor that provides foundational knowledge and skills appropriate for students who are seeking a career in neuroscience and/or neuropsychology.

Prerequisites

Completion of prerequisite courses does not guarantee admission to the minor. 

  • Junior status or higher (60+ credits)
  • A 3.0 overall UF GPA and a 3.0 prerequisite GPA in:
    • PSY2012 General Psychology
    • BSC2010 Integrated Principles of Biology 1
    • APK2105C Applied Human Physiology with Laboratory
    • STA2023 Introduction to Statistics 1

The minor is open to all students who meet the prerequisites, except for Health Science majors in the Applied Brain Science specialization. Health Science majors in the Preprofessional specialization can substitute CHM2045 for the APK2105C prerequisite requirement. Health Science majors in the Pre-Rehabilitation specialization can substitute BSC2005 for the BSC2010 prerequisite requirement. Students will only be considered for the minor if all prerequisites are complete prior to applying.

  • OTH3416 Pathophysiology (3 credits)
  • PHC4796C Artificial Intelligence in Psychological and Brain Sciences (3 credits)

How to apply

Students can apply for the Applied Brain Science minor on ONE.UF. Due to limited seats in minor courses, students should only apply if they have four or more Fall/Spring semesters remaining at UF. If you have questions about the minor, please email minors@phhp.ufl.edu.
