Most funding opportunities are available for fall admission though there may be limited opportunities for spring or summer admission.
Graduate Assistantship
Benefits include:
Stipend: The minimum stipend amount for the College of Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP) is $29,000/year.
Tuition waiver: 24 credits of tuition/year. Students are required to enroll in 9 credits in the fall and spring semesters, and 6 credits in the summer semester. The tuition waiver does not usually include student fees, which are approximately $82/credit hour. More information regarding tuition and fee is available on the UF Finance and Accounting website.
Health insurance: Graduate Assistants have the opportunity to enroll in GatorGradCare health insurance. The cost of individual (employee only) coverage is $12 monthly.
Work responsibility: Graduate Assistants are appointed at 0.5 FTE (20/hours a week). Work responsibilities vary based on assignment. Some students may spend their 20 hours a week working as a teaching assistant, others as research assistants, or a mixture. General responsibilities will be outline in letter of offer.
How to apply: All applicants will be automatically considered for eligible and available Graduate Assistant positions. No additional materials are required but applicants are encouraged to submit a complete application by the priority deadline (December 1st for fall admission; June 1st for spring admission).
