Meet Our Environmental Health PhD Students

Pei-Yu Wu

I would like to solve food safety and environmental pollution problems to alleviate the health impact of harmful chemicals in our environment.

Pei-Yu Wu, PhD in Environmental Health student

Jessica Donaldson

After completion of my Ph.D., I hope to become an environmental consultant. Following my work in industry, I plan to pursue a career in academia as a professor with a focus in research and mentoring the next generation of ecotoxicologist and environmental health professionals.

Bianca Punch

I chose University of Florida because the research being done aligned with my own interests. The prospect of working with the Emerging Pathogens Institute attracted me as well as the fact that the department does a lot of research in my home region, the Caribbean.

Bianca Punch, PhD student in Environmental Health

Alyssa Meyers

I’d like to do research that I may one day be able to present before law makers to argue for better protections of our water. This is not just an environmental issue, it is a shared resource for drinking and recreation that directly affects human health.

Alyssa Meyers, PhD student

Jeongmin Choi

My long-term goal is to become an expert in evaluating toxicokinetics for international regulatory agencies. Specifically, I aim to contribute to the acceptance of computational approaches, such as PBPK modeling, as alternatives to animal testing in regulatory risk assessment.
