UF College of Public Health and Health Professions students Sam Curry and Karin Rashid recently traveled to Tallahassee, Florida, to promote children’s health care access alongside Florida Voices for Health and students from Florida medical schools.
Curry and Rashid, both students in the Master of Public Health, social and behavioral sciences concentration, met with several state senators and representatives to discuss improving health care access for Florida’s children.
Curry and Rashid became involved with the effort through Curry’s internship work with Florida Voices for Health, a nonprofit organization that helps Floridians share their health stories with policymakers.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of public health advocacy efforts and encourage everyone to get involved!” Rashid said.
