A letter from the Program Director:
March 11, 2026
It is almost Spring Break, and this has been an incredibly busy semester.
Our program has proudly sent out four different case competition teams to represent Gator Nation this semester. The Cleveland Clinic Team, comprised of first-year M.H.A. students, advanced from a virtual first round and presented in the quarterfinals in Cleveland—a program first to be celebrated! The UAB Team also performed admirably in Birmingham. Meanwhile, the Ohio State First-Year Team and the South Florida ACHE Team are busy preparing their presentations and will compete later this spring.
Thirteen students attended ACHE Congress this year, also joining us at the UF M.H.A. Alumni, Family, and Friends Reception on Tuesday evening. Thank you to everyone who joined—it was a pleasure to see so many strong generations of UF M.H.A. in one room.
This spring, multiple organizations have visited campus to recruit our students for internships and fellowships. If you have a summer internship opportunity for a UF M.H.A. student, please email me!
The incoming UF M.H.A. Class of 2028 is already looking strong. We have accepted students from four different Florida public universities, helping us maintain our position as the #1 M.H.A. program in Florida. Please share our admissions link with strong potential candidates you may know. (Applications close on April 1.)
We also continue to celebrate our 60th year! In February, we hosted a Career-Focused Alumni-Student Webinar with 19 alumni sharing career paths in Academic Medical Centers, Community Hospitals, Clinic Practice Management, Consulting and Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Sales – the Class of 2022 overwhelming showed up for this event, and it was great to see alumni interacting with students. Mark your calendars: we plan to hold this event annually every spring semester.Â
Finally, I hope to see many alums at our 60th Anniversary Celebration on April 17th. We will begin with a seminar featuring two special presentations: Dr. Paul Duncan will discuss how healthcare has changed over the past 60 years, and Carlton Inniss, Executive Coach and UF M.H.A. Advisory Council Member, will share some wisdom from his experience as an executive coach. A welcome reception for all alumni will precede the seminar.
That evening, we will celebrate sixty years of UF M.H.A. during the UF vs. Auburn baseball game from premiere seating at the Diamond Deck at Condron Family Ballpark.
We look forward to celebrating with you – and as always, go Gators!
