Meet: Morgan Romenesko
Program: Master of Health Science in One Health
Hometown: Appleton, Wisconsin
Educational background: B.A. in Health Promotion
Why did you decide to join your program?
I joined the program due to my love surrounding health and the natural world. These are two things that really affect one another which I wish was talked about more in the public health realm, which I currently work in. Someday I’d like to be a voice for local communities to recognize these relationships and create ways to nurture them. I believe this will help us thrive, along with our ecosystems and animal populations around us. We really need to focus on uplifting these things to stop biodiversity loss, the spread of zoonotic diseases, and harm to the world.
What do you plan to do with your degree?
There are many roles I’d be willing to try! I would be open to multiple careers including environmental health roles in public health or research in the One Health field. As I continue through the program, I hope to narrow down my search, but for now I’m pretty open!
What do you like to do in your spare time?
There’s a lot! I love hiking, doing art projects, and reading fantasy books to name a few. Traveling also holds a special place in my heart, as I love to see different environments and ecosystems!
What would you like to share with others who may be considering the same program?
This is a really unique program that I don’t think you’ll find in other places. If you value the relationships between humans and our other counterparts, this may be the program for you!
