Briefly describe your research area
My research focuses on balance control during forward and backward gait initiation in individuals post-stroke to enhance fall risk assessment and targeted interventions for rehabilitation.

If you had a bumper sticker to highlight your research, what would it say?
“Forward or Backward — Every step tells a story in stroke recovery”
How have your goals changed since joining the Rehabilitation Science program?
Since I joined the Rehabilitation Science program, my goals have evolved from simply gaining clinical knowledge to developing a deeper understanding of research methodology, with a stronger focus on contributing to evidence-based solutions for improving post-stroke mobility and fall prevention. Professionally, I am now more committed to bridging the gap between research and clinical practice, aiming to influence rehabilitation protocols through data-driven insights.

What advice do you have for someone considering the UF Rehabilitation Science program or a Ph.D. program in general?
The Ph.D. journey can feel like a roller coaster, but staying focused and optimistic, building meaningful connections and embracing it as a space for growth and development will help you thrive through the challenges and opportunities it brings.
What do you like to do outside of the program?
Outside Ph.D. life, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, listening to music and gospel teachings, singing and playing table tennis. These activities help me relax, stay grounded and maintain a healthy balance between work and life.
