Meet: Ashwin Ramakrishnan
Program: Master of Health Science, One Health
Undergraduate Degree: Bachelor of Science in Science, Microbiology, and Cell Sciences, University of Florida
Research Interests: Cardiovascular research, medical devices, rare disease

Why did you choose the University of Florida?
The University of Florida was my alma mater for my Bachelor’s degree.
What philosophy guides you in your education?
Constantly learning, reaching higher, and helping the people and world around you.
What research experience do you have?
Undergraduate university research from 2015-2019. Clinical research from 2020 to present.
If you could solve one environmental and/or global health problem, what would it be?
Make for-profit research less of the driving force behind innovative drugs, and open access to everyone for these innovations.
What are your career goals?
I currently work at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Project Lead, and want to convert to the more clinical innovation side of things (R&D). I also work for Medtronic as a Data Scientist and want to evolve my career there.
