Why did you choose the University of Florida?

The University of Florida offers world-renowned programs tailored to working professionals. The opportunity to work full time while also pursuing my master’s degree was a no-brainer!

What philosophy guides you in your education?

My educational philosophy revolves around integrity and hard work. My passion for environmental health guides my decision-making processes, which are always held to the highest standards of integrity and dedication. My desire to make the world a better, healthier place for all living animals drives my day-to-day life.

What research experience do you have?

After graduating with my B.S. from the University of Tennessee, I worked as a biological scientist studying the effects of contaminants on water filtration systems. As of June 2023, I am an Associate Ecotoxicology Technician working at Oak Ridge National Laboratory studying the effects of contaminants on aquatic ecosystems.

If you could solve one environmental and/or global health problem, what would it be?

If I could solve one environmental and global health problem, it would be the ability to turn any contaminated water source into clean, reliable water for both humans and wildlife.

What are your career goals?

Now that I have obtained my dream job, my career goal is to perform my job as effectively as possible. I want the ability and knowledge to make sound, principled decisions in my new role and, ultimately, make the world a better place.
