Life stress adds up – stroke disparities start early

Why did you choose the UF Rehabilitation Science PhD program?

I chose the UF Rehab Science program because I wanted to work with someone who was productive and knowledgeable in the field of health disparities related to communication sciences and disorders and I identified someone at UF who did this type of work. I also wanted a broader education and perspective on rehabilitation and I felt that a rehab sciences program could provide that.

What things do you like to do outside of the program?

I enjoy kayaking, tubing, reading at Depot Park, and longboarding

What is the best piece of advice you have received about being a successful PhD student?

Life around you continues to move forward while you’re working on your PhD so continue to do the things you enjoy and spend time with the people you care about.
