Katherine Buzzanca-Fried presents at American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine

Katherine Buzzanca-Fried, Ph.D., a 2024 graduate of the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions’ Ph.D. program in rehabilitation science, was accepted into the Poster Spotlight Program for the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine annual conference held October 31- November 3 in Dallas.

Buzzanca-Fried is currently a postdoctoral fellow with the Brooks-UF PHHP Research Collaboration, where she is building a research program in concussion science. Her poster, “Psychological Factors from the Fear Avoidance Model and Beyond as Predictors of Persisting Symptoms after Concussion: An integrative review,” was selected by peer reviewers as among the top 30 posters submitted to the conference.

Buzzanca-Fried is mentored by Jason Beneciuk, a Ph.D., D.P.T., a research associate professor in the PHHP department of physical therapy and director of musculoskeletal research at Brooks Rehabilitation in Jacksonville.
