Why did you decide to join the BHS CSD program?

From a young age, I have wanted to make a difference in the lives of others. I have a love for science, technology, and the Deaf community. All of these aspirations are fulfilled by the CSD program.

What have been some of your favorite moments in your program?

In this program, I have made friends and memories that I will always cherish. In my experience, there is nothing better than studying a topic with another student, starting out completely lost on the information, but making mistakes, laughing about it, and finding memorable ways to retain that information together.

What do you plan to do with your degree?

I aspire to join UF’s upper graduate program and continue to pursue a doctorate in audiology.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love to read, thrift, and listen to music (to build my vinyl collection). I also work full-time as a barista so I enjoy making coffee and specialty drinks.

What would you like to share with others who may be considering the same program?

This career and education path is intellectually challenging in the best of ways as well as emotionally fulfilling. If you’re considering a public health profession I would have to say this is one of the best options.

Is there anything else you would like to share?

As someone who doesn’t have parents that have the background in how to apply or be successful in college I have found many colleagues, professors, and advisors that are more than willing and capable to help me achieve my goals at UF.
