Meet: Alex Youngblood
Program: Doctor of Physical Therapy
Expected Graduation: Spring 2027
Why did you decide to join the DPT program?
The University of Florida has been my top choice for a while. The physical therapy program is widely renowned and well known for creating successful physical therapists. In my career as a barefoot waterskier, I had a few injuries that required a lot of physical therapy. Experiencing how well it worked for me and creating relationships with my physical therapists inspired me to become interested in the field. I love working with people more than anything, and I also love the world of anatomy and physiology, so UF’s physical therapy program seemed like the perfect fit!
What have been some of your favorite moments in the DPT program?
Meeting everyone in my cohort and studying with fellow students!
What do you plan to do with your degree?
I want to practice in a neurological or women’s health physical therapy specialty. I would really like to open an interdisciplinary women’s clinic that offers physical therapy as well as other healthcare services crucial for women to lead a healthy lifestyle.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to waterski and snow ski, go out with my friends, cuddle up in a blanket and watch a movie, and play the New York Times games with my mom and dad!
What would you like to share with others who may be considering the DPT program?
I feel that UF values my education and success not only as a student but as a person. Go with your gut!
Is there anything else you would like to share?
SIP ON IT!!!
