Among only two recipients of the 2024 Women in Neuropsychology Honorable Mention Award presented by the Society for Clinical Neuropsychology is the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology’s Graduate Student Nicole (Colee) Evangelista, MS.
“Colee Evangelista is passionate about elevating voices of systemically marginalized individuals within academia and healthcare systems. Her research is focused on evaluating sociocontextual factors contributing to individual differences in cognitive trajectories in aging. Her work aims to inform clinical interventions and healthcare policies that promote optimal daily functioning and quality of life. As a graduate student at the University of Florida, she led various efforts to facilitate change across areas of research, clinical work, and community engagement. During her term as an APAGS Advocacy Coordinating Team subcommittee member, she advocated for equitable training opportunities and for increased access to patient-centered behavioral health care services. She continues to advocate for policies that promote equitable access to health care services and academic freedom, equity, and inclusion. Colee is committed to empowering others to engage in policy advocacy and remains dedicated to community engagement, building critical consciousness, and integrating cultural humility throughout her professional practice and career.”*
Congratulations and well deserved, Colee!
