Members of the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions department of environmental and global health received several awards and played key leadership roles at the Society of Toxicology 62nd Annual Meeting and ToxExpo held March 19-23 in Nashville.
Zhoumeng Lin, Ph.D., D.A.B.T., C.P.H., an associate professor of environmental and global health and a member of the Center for Environmental and Human Toxicology and Center for Pharmacometrics and Systems Pharmacology, focuses on the development and application of computational technologies to address research questions related to nanomedicine, animal-derived food safety assessment, and environmental chemical risk assessment. His team’s long-term goal is to develop AI-assisted computational approaches to support decision-making in human, animal and environmental health.
Lin served as the chair of the annual meeting’s poster session on Computational Toxicology I. He completed his two-year service on the Council for the Nanoscience and Advanced Materials Specialty Section and received the Outstanding Service as a Councilor Award. Lin is now in his second year in the presidential chain of the Biological Modeling Specialty Section and will start his service as president on May 1.
Wei-Chun Chou, Ph.D., a research assistant professor in the department, was elected councilor of the Biological Modeling Specialty Section.
Qiran Chen, Ph.D., a postdoctoral fellow, served as chair of the poster session on Computational Toxicology II, and was elected as the postdoctoral representative of the Biological Modeling Specialty Section.
