This year’s International Symposium on Mass Gathering Medicine took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from March 29-30th.
Dr. John Lednicky of the College of Environmental and Global Health gave two talks, entitled “Improvements in Air Sampling Methodologies for Studies of Airborne Respiratory Pathogens” and “Some Recent Surprises Regarding Tick-Borne Diseases”.
He also moderated a session titled “Heat stroke and Environmental Health” alongside Dr. Ziad Memish, the Assistant Deputy Minister of Health for Preventive Medicine in Saudi Arabia.
The symposium also discussed communicable and non-communicable diseases such as the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Corona Virus and Diabetes.
