Dr. David Sammons (pictured), dean of the University of Florida International Center, recently presented EGH PhD student, Xiao (Bela) Zheng, with the UF Outstanding International Student Award. The Outstanding International Student Award was initiated to highlight the accomplishments of international students at the University of Florida. The awards are designed to recognize students who not only meet exemplary academic achievement, but also a wide range of accomplishments and contributions. Zheng, originally from China, came to UF to pursue a PhD in public health with a concentration in environmental and global health. Zheng also works as a graduate research assistant under the supervision of EGH associate professor and chair, Dr. Tara Sabo-Attwood. Congratulations, Bela!
