Lisa Nackers receives outstanding dissertation award

Lisa Nackers, M.S., M.P.H., a doctoral student in clinical psychology, received the Society of Behavioral Medicine’s 2012 Outstanding Dissertation Award during the society’s 33rd Annual Meeting and Scientific Sessions April 12 in New Orleans.

Nackers’ dissertation research examined the effects of prescribing moderate versus mild caloric restriction goals for weight loss within a six-month lifestyle intervention, followed by six months of extended care.

Nackers, who will graduate from UF in August, is currently completing her clinical psychology internship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. She is mentored by Michael G. Perri, Ph.D., dean of the College of Public Health and Health Professions and the Robert G. Frank Professor of Clinical and Health Psychology.
