Jamie Reilly and the Cognition and Language Lab have started operating on the K23 (NIH Mentored Research Development Award) which will help cover research expenses for the next 5 years.

Yvonne Rogalski, member of the Cognition and Language Lab, will be giving a platform presentation at the Academy of Aphasia Conference in Boston, MA. The presentation will be discussing contextual information and its effect on processing in older and younger populations.

Tom Kaskie is the recipient of the University Scholars Program, recieving $1000 to fund his research over the summer.

Good news from the lexicography staff at the Oxforde English Dictionary. "Ensorsement" has officially entered the English lexicon. We attribute the etymology of this word to the esteemed Cambridge scholar Jonathan E. Peelle whose thoughtless actions have doth brought about this word.

1. The action of ensorsing (a document): concr. a signature, memorandum, or remark ensorsed upon a document. See ENSORSE v. 1. spec. the entering of an offence on a licence.

Amy Rodriguez, a member of the Cognition and Language Lab, has received the New Century Scholars Doctoral Scholarship from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation.

The Cognition and Language Lab has had some of its members get abstracts accepted into the International Neuropsychology Society Conference for 2009. The conference is being held in Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta is the hometown to such acts as Outkast, T.I., Ludacris and Lil' Jon.

The Cognition and Language Lab has had some of its members get abstracts accepted into the Academy of Aphasia Conference for 2008. The conference is being held in Turku, Finland, birthplace of such famous people as Paavo Nurmi, Mauno Koivisto, Saku Koivu and the 18th century botanist, Herman Spöring!

The Cognition and Language Lab has acquire a sophisticated defense system. We call it a "laser"; for more information about our "laser's" defenseive capabilities read this.
