Amy Cantrell

Welcome to my home page. I am currently appointed as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the College of Public Health and Health Professions at the University of Florida.

I grew up in South Carolina where I earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science in Mathematics from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. In 1996, I enrolled at the University of Florida and received my Ph.D. in Statistics in 2001.

My early teaching career began while I was in graduate school at Winthrop University with an adjunct position at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte NC. In 1999, while attending the University of Florida, I was hired as an adjunct instructor at Central Florida Community College. I was employed full-time by Central Florida Community College in 2000 and remained there until August 2007 when I joined this department.

My experience and interests are in statistical consulting and educating students and professionals from other backgrounds on the use of statistics.

Currently, I teach graduate courses in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Information on these courses can be found via links on this page. Courses using PHC 6937 are referred to by title.
