UF to offer free vehicle checks for mature drivers

On Wednesday, Nov. 9, the UF department of occupational therapy will offer CarFit, a free program to help mature drivers fit more comfortably and safely in their vehicles. Trained occupational therapy students will lead drivers through a 12-point checklist with their vehicles, recommend adjustments and adaptations, and offer community resources that could make vehicles “fit” better or enhance drivers’ safety.

CarFit will take place from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Carrabba’s Italian Grill at 3021 S.W. 34th St. in Gainesville. Please call Desiree Lanford at 352-273-6024 to schedule an appointment. All ages are welcome.
